Do not book the drawing

Sharaan by Jean Nouvel is in the Library, and it is the register's only admitted house that has not opened. Designs were published on the twenty-seventh of October 2020. The first rock was cut on the twenty-sixth of March 2024. A completion year of 2024 was named once, in the 2020 release, and was not named again. No opening date is published. No guest has stayed. Thirty-eight suites are now in the file; the 2020 release said forty. The count fell without a withdrawal. We do not book a subtraction that has not yet become a door.

What is being cut is serious, which is why the confusion is expensive. Ateliers Jean Nouvel won the competition. The house is conceived as removal: rooms inside the sandstone of the Sharaan Nature Reserve, one thousand five hundred and forty square kilometres, a circular courtyard as the entrance, a lift shaft reported at eighty metres, nothing standing above the rock line. The precedent is Hegra, which kept its people out of the summer heat by living in the cut. That is an argument. It is not a key.

What you can actually hold

Aman AlUla is a tented camp announced for 2027, forty-odd canvas suites and a spa, in design review for two years. The pace is the point, and the point is that there is no rate. Six Senses is the same year, a palm-grove wellness house that does not yet have a night to sell. Leave both. Banyan Tree's second villa cluster is the opening that already has demand attached to a house that has been taking guests since October 2022. The Chedi Hegra is not a pipeline item. It opened in December 2024: thirty-five rooms inside Hegra, some of them the old railway station, run by GHM. Ignore any sentence that calls it seven stars. There is no such star. There is a small hotel on a UNESCO site, and a ticket for the tombs that is not included in the rate.
