Name the layer, or do not name the trip
Hegra is not Ashar is not the Old Town is not Sharaan. A three-night file can hold three of them. It cannot pretend they are one hotel.
Do not book 'AlUla'. Book a layer. The Office files four, and a three-night stay is the structure that fits them: one morning at Hegra and the Old Town, one day in Ashar with Maraya at night, one day in the reserve or under the sky. Collapse them and you will spend the transfer complaining that the tomb is not outside the tent.
Four names
Hegra is the UNESCO anchor, inscribed in 2008: one hundred and eleven Nabataean tombs, ticketed slots, no walk-in. It is the reason the trip exists. It is not a hotel, even when The Chedi sits on the old station beside it. Ashar Valley is the canyon and the resort cluster — Habitas, Banyan Tree, the mirror hall at Maraya. Fifteen kilometres, in the Library's measure, from the tombs to Banyan's door. That is a planned morning, not a stroll. The Old Town and AlJadidah are the oasis at night: Dar Tantora, dinner, the streets. Sharaan Nature Reserve is the fourth layer, and it is still a landscape. The ultra-luxury house drawn for it has not opened. Hiking it is a day. Sleeping in Nouvel's cut is not.
Hegra at dawn is a ticket. Ashar at dusk is a resort. The Old Town is the evening between them.
The Red Sea is not a fifth layer of the same valley. The Office sells the pair — sea and Hegra — as the Kingdom's most bookable twin, about three hours by road. Take it if you want both a reef and a tomb. Do not take it if you think the occupancy will match. The coast missed its plan. The oasis is the one that sells out. They share a dry table and a winter. They do not share a jetty.

Where the house is open, that is the official rate and the privileges that house actually honours. Where it is not open, the answer is that it is not open. Miles and status are not a promise on a project with no reservations.
