The card sits beside the Fund
John Pagano has run Red Sea Global since May 2018. He is filed as an author of a destination, not as the owner of one. The owner is the Public Investment Fund.
The Library admits John Pagano, LHL-P-466, as an author of destination-scale hospitality rather than as a chief executive by title. That distinction is the article. He has been chief executive of Red Sea Global since the twenty-seventh of May 2018. He did not inherit a coast with hotels on it. He directed the system the hotels sit inside: airport, utilities, islands, the management contracts, and a developer that also operates.
Before that, more than twenty-three years at Canary Wharf Group in London, where he built its residential business, then a small advisory company for large schemes. The Red Sea is the same muscle at a different scale. Hospitality begins before the hotel door: the road, the power, the cap on visitors, the airline that is not quite an airline yet. The qualifying claim is not that he drew every villa.
What the card is not
Red Sea Global is owned by the Public Investment Fund. In November 2023 The Red Sea Development Company, started in 2018, was folded together with AMAALA. Pagano runs the result. He does not own the result. In October 2025 he joined the NEOM board. In December 2025 he was made managing director of the AlUla Development Company. A board seat does not move authorship of The Line, Trojena or Sindalah onto his card. AlUla's heritage programme is not his either. The card sits beside the institutions that made the programme possible. It does not sit above them.
The environmental target of a thirty percent net conservation gain is not yet a completed outcome.
Book the coast for the houses that are open, not for the man. The man is the reason the airport exists. The Fund is the reason the man was appointed. Confusing the two is how a stay becomes a brochure about vision.
