The country is full. Name the island.

398,841 stopovers in 2025, 99.7 percent of a ceiling the country set for itself. The average rate is not the private-island rate. A Mahé week is not a Fregate week.

Name the island. In 2025 the Seychelles took 398,841 stopover visitors. That is a record, and it is 99.7 percent of a ceiling of about four hundred thousand that the country chose. The Maldives, in the same year, took 2.25 million and went on adding keys. This archipelago added forty-eight rooms. One market discounts to fill. The other reprices because it is not allowed to grow. Book the second only if you have already said which island.

The national average rate is five hundred and sixty-three dollars, with RevPAR at three hundred and seventy-four and occupancy at sixty-nine percent across every licensed bed. The top of that market was up twelve percent on 2024. None of those numbers is a villa. Sixteen resorts sit on islands of their own, and the Office starts them near three thousand five hundred dollars a night. A visitor spends about two thousand eight hundred dollars on the trip, close to a Maldivian bill, and hides less of it in transfers and taxes. Food and the day out are simply expensive. Prices are written in euros. December and April are the peaks.

The country is mostly not a resort

Eight hundred and twenty-three licensed addresses, 15,906 beds, and seventy-six percent of those beds are self-catering or small. The hubs brief uses a second total, about thirteen and a half thousand, and does not say what it leaves out. We will not average them. The 15,906 is the licensed stock. The island split later in this number belongs to the smaller one. Europe is two-thirds of the arrivals. Russia, France, Germany, Italy and Poland lead the country list. Eighty-nine percent of visitors are here for the first time. The ceiling, when it bites, bites the guesthouse before it bites North Island. A luxury week is a thin shelf on top of a Creole economy. Do not read the occupancy of the country as the availability of the island.

The Maldives sells the resort. The Seychelles sells the archipelago. Rarity here is not a slogan. It is the map.

The first five months of 2026 were down 11.7 percent on that record, after the Gulf transit shook. The islands did not fill up past their own law. The route blinked. Dubai, Doha and Addis still open the door. Paris, Frankfurt and a seasonal Zurich are the exceptions, not the system. Name the island, then name the hub that gets you there. The rest is a photograph of granite.

The last line

The desk can ask. It cannot invent a door.

Where the house is open, that is the official rate and the privileges that house actually honours. Where it is not open, the answer is that it is not open. Miles and status are not a promise on a project with no reservations.
